A day with Lynette

1- What do you do at Graphix?

I am the Financial Administrator.

2- How many years have you been working in accounting?

I’ve lost count, my 1st job was as a typist in an accounting firm and moved into data entry on the only computer in the firm! Over 40 years later and experiences in NZ & AU accounting firms and private business it’s a very different world behind the front counter!!

3- What is the most challenging part of your job?

I came on board to relieve Sharon of the financial day to day functions at the same time Graphix was changing to Xero, so we were challenged for a wee while moving to a new accounts system, but I think we are well over all the teething times and settled into a nice monthly system.  So, I would now suspect one of the challenges is not knowing the background of client or supplier relationships, but everyone is helpful when I ask anything!!!

4- Tell us one thing no one knows about you.

About 4 years ago I travelled through Madagascar on the back of a Motorbike – magical and challenging adventure.

5- What is your favourite part of your job?

Feeling like I know what I need to do next, and the laughter coming from the front office.

6- Do you have any hobbies?

Well, a few have dropped off my radar, but time allows me my new e-bike, walking, gardening, skiing and a current favourite is time with our grandchildren.

7- What are you reading/watching at the moment?

I prefer non-fiction books and tonight I found myself revisiting the movie Patch Adams – yes laughter is the best medicine.
